Slowing Down

For those of you who haven't heard yet, my training has taken a back seat for a few weeks.  I went to the doctor a week ago and found out that I have a stomach ulcer, inflamed esophagus and some gallbladder problems.  Although I am sick, I am not using this as an excuse to back down on this great project.  Thank you to everyone who has supported me thus far in my journey.  All this just means that I will have to work that much harder after any surgeries are all said and done.  These women that I am walking for have been through much harder and more difficult days than what I am.  With that said I am not backing down.  I will still be doing as much fundraising as I possibly can from my home while I am working on getting back to 100%.

Meeting Time

So today I went to a meeting for the Susan G. Komen 3 Day Walk for the cure.  This was probably one of the most moving things I have ever been to in my life.  It really put everything into perspective for me.  This isn't one of the easiest things to do.  This event is BIG.  Never in my life have I ever gotten the opportunity to do something that is THIS BIG!!!!  I get to camp out for an entire weekend with women who have survived this horrible disease.  I get to see just how strong these women are for three whole days.  But this meeting also helped me to realize that I cannot do this alone.  I need the help of each and every one of you.  There is really no donation too small. If all you can give me is $1, then it's $1 closer to finding a cure to breast cancer.  Someday there will be a sure and our sisters, mothers, daughters, grandmothers, neighbors, coworkers, etc. won't have to battle this disease anymore.  Please help and I PROMISE you'll be glad you did!!!

Training

Hello everyone!  Well, as you can see there have been quite a few donations added in the past few days.  The progress that we're making is amazing!  It's getting more and more exciting every time I get a new donation in the mail.  Yesterday I walked a little over 4 miles in less than an hour.  It was a nice change from only one or two the week before.  I'm not only working on how far I can walk, but I'm trying to get the rest of my body ready for it as well.  I'm not going to lie, this whole thing sounded a lot easier when I was hearing about it on the radio's and t.v., but now that I'm seeing how much hard work actually goes into something like this, it changes my view completely.  It's showing me just how right this whole thing is.  It shows that we are doing the right thing by doing little things to help women across the world battle this disease.  Thank you all so much for supporting me.  Only a little under $2,000 is needed for this great cause, PLEASE don't stop helping now.  Anyone who I haven't sent a letter in the mail to or an email and you would like to donate, please let me know and I can send you my home address.  Again, thank you all, I cannot possibly tell you how much this all means to me.
